Để hiểu một cách đơn giản về 2 phiên bản Classic CC và CC, Classic là phiên bản mạnh mẽ dành cho đối tượng những người dùng Lightroom từ trước đến giờ, tập trung và tối ưu hóa cho việc sử dụng trên máy tính trong khi CC là phiên bản rút gọn, loại bỏ khá nhiều tính năng để tập trung hơn cho đám mây, có thể hoạt động trên nên nhiều nền tảng khác nhau trên cả di động và máy tính.
Vậy kể từ bây giờ Lightroom sẽ có tên mới là Lightroom Classic CC. Trong khi ứng dụng Lightroom CC mới sẽ tự động tải ảnh gốc lên kho lưu trữ của Adobe. Ngay cả Lightroom Classic CC cũng có tuỳ chọn đồng bộ dữ liệu lên kho lưu trữ, nó sẽ tự chuyển đổi ảnh gốc sang định dạng phù hợp (DNG) và tải chúng lên. Lợi ích là bạn có thể truy cập vào kho lưu trữ ảnh trực tuyến của mình và xử lý theo ý thích.
Nói qua tính năng của Lightroom CC, nó đem đến cho người dùng trải nghiệm xử lý ảnh đơn giản và trực quan hơn. Các công cụ tuỳ chỉnh được sắp xếp hợp lý và thao tác mượt mà hơn. Tất nhiên nó sẽ hạn chế nhiều tính năng hơn so với phiên bản Lightroom Classic nhiều tính năng.
